Wade B. Loy Jr. "Sonny", 85, passed away June 13, 2012 at ManorCare of Barberton. Born in Akron he had been a Canal Fulton area resident. He retired from Goodyear/Lockheed Martin after 38 years of service and the Franklin Twp Police Dept. Sonny was a member of the Cowboy Loy Family Band, life member of the Canal Fulton VFW 9795 and American Legion post 209, and member of the former Masonic Elliott Lodge 514 in Canal Fulton. Sonny was also a proud Army veteran having served during WWII. Preceded in death by his parents Wade Sr. and Billie and wife Eleanor; Survivors include son Wade III (Sandy); sister Dorothy King, Becky (Wayne) Harmon, Idella Brown and Joanne Gardner and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012, 1 P.M. , at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Rev. Patricia Christ officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 A.M.- 1 P.M.. Interment will take place Tuesday, June 19, 2012, 2 P.M. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
