William "Bill" P. Mentil, Jr. 75 of Canal Fulton, passed away on September 20, 2026. He was born on November 27, 1950, in Cleveland to the late William Sr. and Irene (Toth) Mentil. Bill retired from the Hoover Company after 36 years of service. He was a proud US Army veteran and a member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church. 

Bill will be remembered for the simple joys that meant so much to him. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football fan. He had a love for railroads and trains, country music, and the comfort of enjoying a cold Busch. He also dearly loved his dog, George, who held a special place in his life.

Above all, Bill’s memory lives on in the family who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children, Chris Mentil, Cody Van Ryswyk and Chelsea Van Ryswyk; sister, Jeanette Mielenz; and former wife, Linda Mentil. 

A Memorial Mass for Bill will be held on September 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at SS Philip & James Catholic Church, 412 High St NE, Canal Fulton, Fr. Travis Seagraves celebrant.

Bill will be remembered with love by those who knew him, and his presence will be missed.
