Winfield Eugene "Gene" Stevens, 51 of Canal Fulton died Sunday, May 20, 2012. Gene was a life resident of the area, was a 1978 graduate of Northwest High School and worked his entire life in the family business, Stevens Hauling. He loved motorcycle riding and working on cars. Preceded in death by his father, John Stevens and is survived by his wife Sherry (Riley) Stevens; children, Winfield Eugene (Dawn) Stevens II, Mikeal (Laura) Stevens and Jessica (David) Stevens; Five grandchildren; brothers, John (Nancy) Stevens and Francis Seymour; sisters, Marianne (Kevin) Freeman and Virginia (Brian) Stevens. and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service FRIDAY 11:00 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rte. 93, Canal Fulton) with Rev. Ronnie Kendrick officiating. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron. Friends may call at the funeral home THURSDAY 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winfield (Gene) Stevens Memorial Fund, C/O PNC Bank.
