Winona "Winnie" Ward, 98, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Chapel Hill Community. She was born March 15, 1927 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. Winnie was an active volunteer for the Woman's Service League and Akron General Hospital where she had 10,500 volunteer hours from 1976-2013. In her spare time, she loved gardening and collecting dolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Ward; daughter, Laura Newman; son, Donnie Trace and three brothers. Winnie is survived by her sons, Tom (Linda) Trace and Ron (Sue) Trace; six grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Kathy) Ward and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held SATURDAY, August 23, 2025, 2:00pm at Chapel Hill Community, 12200 Strausser St. NW, Canal Fulton with visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time. Winnie will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations in Winnie's name are requested to Chapel Hill Community, Aultman Hospice or a charity of your choice.
