Obituary

Charles Lee Barnett, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, July 15, 2023. He was born in Point Pleasant, WV to the late Roland and Ilah Barnett (Rice). Charles joined the US Army and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and married the love of his life, Sandra Louise (Dean) in May of 1962. They shared 61 wonderful years together.

Charles moved his wife to Akron, OH where he worked at Firestone for 18 years. He then returned to working for the Army National Guard and served his country for 28 years.

Charles was preceded in death by his son, Charlie Barnett; son-in-law, David Criss and brother, David Barnett. He is survived by his wife Sandra (Dean) and children, Elizabeth Criss, Theresa (Sandy) Barnett, Melissa (Eric) Bee and Sandy K. Barnett; son-in-law, Ron Todys; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He never met a stranger and once he knew you, you became family. He was also a master of random acts of kindness and taught his children to love unconditionally. It will always be an honor to be known as a "Barnett Girl".

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
