Elsie F. (Lane) Fry

Elsie F. (Lane) Fry, 91 of New Franklin, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023. She was born February 18, 1932 to Oleva M. (Smailes) and Thomas W. Lane of Coshocton, OH. She graduated from Coshocton High School in 1950. One of her first jobs was at Newberry's store in Coshocton. She later worked at the Coshocton Credit Bureau. A long-time friend and co-worker convinced her to go on a double date. Elsie met her future husband during this outing and they were later married in 1955. Elsie had a best friend in her twin sister, Delsie. When Elsie and Sonny married, Delsie was the maid of honor and Sonny's brother Don was the best man. This event led to the marriage of Don and Delsie. Elsie was a loving wife, wonderful mother and friend to so many. She volunteered at their church and Green Good Neighbors and continued to enjoy Sunday school classes and on Thursday attended Manchester United Methodist Church ministries and luncheons. She was a great cook and enjoyed family time, reading, sewing, crocheting, hiking and camping. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Albert (Sonny) and son Timothy L. Fry. Elsie is survived by her children, Mary Provens (Mark), Alice Nandihalli (Ujjana) and Daniel Fry (Michelle Moehler); sister Delsie Fry (Don). She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Provens, Maxwell and Erin Fry, Sunita and Asha Nandihalli and Carter Fry; great grandchildren Genevieve and Oliver Provens as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, March 4, 2023, 10:30am at Manchester United Methodist, 5625 Manchester Rd., New Franklin, pastor Frank Woodrum officiating. Burial at Manchester Cemetery. Visitation from 9:30am until time of service at the church.
