James Robert Stewart, 78 years old, of Canal Fulton, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 15, 2020. James was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on January 29, 1942. He was previously employed at General Motors and General Electric in NJ and a heavy equipment operator in AL. His entire life he was an avid fisherman and cherished spending time with his family. He was proud to be lieutenant of the Rahway, NJ First Aid Squad. James received the Citizen of the Year award from Canal Fulton in 2010 for taking care of the city’s flower pots.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Olive (Moore) Stewart. He leaves behind his children, Debra (Albert) Perkins of Brick, NJ, Robert (Beth Ann) Stewart of Canal Fulton, OH, and Kimberly (Salvatore) Catania of Allentown, PA. James also leaves behind his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private services are to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made St. Jude’s Hospital.
