Joseph Michael Harbour, age 39, died suddenly on July 2, 2021. Joe was born on October 1, 1981, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Richard and Mary Harbour. He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 2000. While in high school he maintained a 4.2 GPA, earned nine varsity letters: four in track, three in football, two in basketball and earned All NOL League honors in football and track. He was inducted into the Upper Sandusky High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Joe received his bachelor's degree in Education from Baldwin Wallace University in 2004 graduating Summa Cum Laude and where he also played football. While at BW he was a four year varsity football starter. He was a two time Verizon Academic All American, first team Academic All Ohio Athletic Conference, the OAC Clyde Lamb Scholar Athlete which honors the top male student athlete, and Lee J. Tressl Academic Award winner. He was a Phi Alpha Theta Scholar, a Phi Alpha Theta History Honorary and a member of the Alpha Lambda Honor Society, Dayton C. Miller Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In 2015, he received his Master of Education degree from Ashland University. Joe taught Social Studies at Norwayne High School and Northwest High School. He coached varsity football at both schools and led the Norwayne Bobcats to the 2011 Division IV State Football Championship. He was named the Wayne County Athletic League Coach of the Year and Ohio High School Football Coach of the Year in 2011. Joe enjoyed historical documentaries, loved Good Mythical Morning and was passionate about all sports. Joe is survived by his wife, Andrea; his children, Joey and Alice; parents, Richard and Mary of Upper Sandusky; brother Ryan (Amy) of North Canton; in-laws, Robert and Theresa Hudson of Canal Fulton; Brandt (Leah) of Wadsworth; nieces and nephews, AJ, Sydney, Casey, Blake, Emily, Brandt, and Lynnae and pets Trooper, Jango and Leia. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Ricky and Craig and sister, Jenny. A Memorial Service will be held FRIDAY, July 9, 2021, 12:00pm (NOON) at Northwest High School Puffenberger Auditorium, 8580 Erie Ave N, Canal Fulton, Pastor Shane Minne officiating. The family will receive friends ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Andrea Harbour for an educational fund that will be set up for Joey and Alice Harbour.
