Linda Sue (Poorbaugh) Ditzler

Linda Ditzler, 84, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was born May 1, 1938 in Brookville, PA to the late Harry and Marie (Fischel) Poorbaugh. Linda graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics and was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She was a very active volunteer with the United Church of Christ for most of her life. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, visiting the elderly, developed a program to provide sleeping mats for the homeless and following hurricane Katrina she spent six months coordinating volunteers for recovery in New Orleans. Choral singing was a very important part of her life. She was also an excellent quilter, cook and pie baker. Most importantly Linda was the best mom and grandma and enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Linda is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Ditzler; children, Sandra (Eugene) Matthews, Melanie (Brian) Welch, Adam (Sheila) Ditzler and David (Molly) Ditzler; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and brother, James (Kay) Poorbaugh.

A Memorial Service will be held SATURDAY, August 20, 2022, 2:00pm at Trinity United Church of Christ, 150 E. North St., Wooster, OH 44691 with Pastor Dave Zerby officiating. In remembrance of Linda's favorite color and joyful attitude, please consider wearing something yellow.
