Louis Samuel Nicolard

Louis Samuel Nicolard, 93, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 26, 2022. Born in Akron, OH to the late Lena & Albert Nicolard. Louis was a longtime resident of Canal Fulton and attended Canal Fulton Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Louis Samuel Nicolard, his granddaughter Stephanie Houser, grandson Eddie Watson, 6 of his brothers and 7 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Gladys Nicolard. Daughters Louisa "Cricket" (Bill) Rott, Pamela Nicolard, Machelle (Jim) Okey, and son Louis "Sam" (Diana) Nicolard. Grandchildren Doug "Jersey" (Betty) Nicolardi, Connie (Jeff) Lacap, Jason Moore, Justin Moore, Naomi (Dana) Smith, Dominic Watson, Jason (Anna) Straight, Janelle (Justin) Harris, Josh (Stephanie) Straight, Tiffany Nicolard, and Samuel (Jessica) Nicolard. He had 23 great grandchildren who loved and adored him. He is also survived by his brother Pete Nicolard and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 
Louie will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He had a way of lighting up a room when he was in it. Louie loved his family and it brought him great joy when they were all together. For many years he and Gladys hosted family picnics at their home. You'd almost always find Louie at the grill laughing. If he wasn't there then you'd find him showing his garden and flowers to all the kids, or pulling a prank. He always enjoyed a good laugh. 
His presence will be greatly missed because he was the pillar of his family, but we do rejoice in knowing he is with his Savior and we will see him again. Until then, thank you Louie, Dad, Grandpa, for loving us all so well and for the lifetime of laughter and memories. 
Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, November 3, 2022, 12:00pm (Noon) at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Pastor Dan Skinner officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron. Visitation Wednesday, November 2, 2022,  5pm to 7pm and also one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
