Louise Margaret Harshfield Betsch, 82, of the Chapel Hill Community, Canal Fulton passed away, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Chapel Hill. Lou was born January 18, 1936, in Berea, Ohio, to the late Elizabeth Corelli Brown and Hiram Wayne Harshfield and had been a resident of Chapel Hill Community for the past three years. She was a graduate of North High School in Columbus and received a B.S. degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University. She was a social worker in both Columbus and Geneva, Ohio. Lou was a member of the United Church of Christ, Genealogical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Clown College, Ohio State Alumni Association and the United Church Fellowship. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stan Wayne Harshfield,and is survived by her husband, Joe Betsch; daughters, Elizabeth (Paul Crosby) and Molly (Ken Hughes); sons, Jeff and Pete (Linda Franq) Betsch; grandchildren, Jennica Betsch, Nathan Betsch, Janie Hughes and Dale Hughes.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Community, 12200 Strausser NW, Canal Fulton, OH 44614, with Pastors Glen Shedlock, Erin Proie and Ralph Quellhorst, officiating.. Final resting place will be in Grandview Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lou's name may be made to the Ross County Historical Society, 45 West 5th Street, Chillicothe, OH 45601 or Mercy Hospice, 4369 Whipple Avenue NW , Canton, OH 44718.
