Mary Lou Durkin, 87 of Jackson Twp., passed away Friday, December 10, 2021. Born on May 10, 1934 in Euclid to Laurel and Mary Sampsel, she married James Durkin on November 14, 1958. She owned her own hair salon and worked for Rice's Pharmacy for over 10 years. Mary Lou was a Stark County 4-H advisor for over 10 years and a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association. She was an avid gardener, loved her cats, chickens and rabbits and fishing with her grandchildren.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 63 years, James; children, Joel (Elizabeth), Rebecca (Michael) Bryan and Justin (Tricia); grandchildren, David (Sabrina) Chapman, Matthew, James, Mary (Timothy) Fitzwater, Mikayla, Anne, Tiffany (Curtis) Hazzard and William; great-grandchildren, Elyza, Esperanza, Catherine, Zane and Anthony.
A Celebration of Life will be held SATURDAY, 2:00pm at Trinity UCC, 8101 Manchester Ave NW, Canal Fulton, with Pastor Dave Zerby officiating. Visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Stark County 4-H in Mary Lou's memory.
