R. W. "Bill" Baker, 85 of North Lawrence, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born May 24, 1935 in Massillon to the late Robert and Mildred (Smith) Baker and was a life long resident of North Lawrence. He was a member of Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church, served for 65 years as a member of the North Lawrence Fire Department, 12 of those years as Fire Chief. He enjoyed camping and time spent with family.Bill is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Florence Baker; daughter, Sandi (Erich) Agnes; son, Robert "Bob" (Donna) Baker, Jr.; grandchildren, J.R. (Lydia) Dennison, Bobbi Jo (Matt) Sibila, Zachary Dennison, Miranda and Lauryn Baker; great-grandchildren, Owen, Claire and Luke Dennison, Penelope Sibila; sister, Cindy (Ron) Maxhimer and sister-in-law, Shirley (Harold) Pitz. A Memorial and Last Alarm Service will be held SATURDAY, April 3, 2021, 11:00am at the North Lawrence Fire Department 4052 Alabama Ave NW, North Lawrence, Chaplain Terry Smith officiating. A light lunch and time for visitation will immediately follow the services. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name can be made to the North Lawrence Fire Department.
