The Reverend Marvin E. Schrolucke, 92, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on February 26. He was born in New Knoxville, Ohio, to Elmer and Louisa Schrolucke. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Joanne Schrolucke (Smilek), sister Lela Van Leuven and brother Ralph Schrolucke. He is survived by stepsons Mark (Debbie) Smilek, Matthew (Sandi) Smilek, and Marty (Charlotte) Smilek, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Sharon (Bev) Minnich of Piqua, Ohio, sister-in-law Annette Schrolucke of New Knoxville, 7 nieces and 2 nephews. Marvin completed his undergrad studies at Lakeland College, then attended United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, graduating with a Masters in 1971. Through the years, Marvin served as pastor for several United Church of Christ congregations in the Midwest states. He enjoyed traveling with Joanne, crossword puzzles and spending time with family when he wasn’t involved in church activities.
Friends and family will be received in the chapel at Chapel Hill Community, 12200 Strausser St. NW, Canal Fulton on MONDAY, March 6, 2023 from 10 - 11 am, with a short service immediately following. Marvin will be buried at Canal Fulton Cemetery.
