Robert Howard Upholzer

Robert "Bob" Upholzer, age 89, was born April 27, 1934, in Penn Run, PA. He was a graduate of Penns Manor High School in 1954. Bob was a long-time resident of Akron, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia, and mother and father, Ida and Joe Upholzer. He is survived by his four children, Karyn Hendricks (Michael), Jeffrey Upholzer (Teri), Steven Upholzer (Angel) and Sandra Orcutt (Stephen). Bob is also survived by his 16 grandchildren: Paul (Ceselee), Jordan and Alex Hendricks; Rachel Owen, Adam Upholzer; Brooke Upholzer (Michael) and Jessica Ciokan (Karrie); Lauren and Grace Upholzer, Katelyn, Madelyn, Stephen, Abigail and Elizabeth Orcutt; and Jonathon and and Kahley Wozniak, as well as three great-grandchildren, Jonah and Eli Owens and Avery Upholzer. Bob is survived by sisters, Laura Pantani (John) and Lucille Jones (Smokey) and brother Edwin Upholzer (LaVerne).
Bob was in the Army and served in Korea from 1956-1958. Bob was the owner of the Ben Franklin store in Canal Fulton, OH for 30 years. In addition to being a loving husband, father and grandfather, brother and friend, Bob enjoyed boating, working on cars and was an avid bird watcher and golfer. As a devoted father, he made sure everyone's cars were working properly and was able to fix anything. Everyone benefitted from his help and positive attitude.
A Memorial Service with military honors will be held TUESDAY, May 30, 2023, 11:00am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Veterans Affairs, Attn: Development & Civic Engagement Office, 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106.
