Robert E. "Bob" Randles, 79 of Portage Lakes, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born May 30, 1941 in Killbuck, OH to the late Floyd and Zelma (Neal) Randles. Bob was a proud US Army veteran having served during Bay of Pigs with the 82nd Airborne. While in the Army he played for the military band in many USO Shows and for President John F. Kennedy. After his time in the military Bob graduated from the University of Akron and West Virginia University. He was the choir director for East Fairmont High School in West Virginia where he won a National Championship in Show Choir, was the middle school and high school choir director for Norton Public Schools for many years and was a choir director for Up With People. Bob was the former owner and instructor at Top Driver Driving School. Bob loved fishing, music, playing his guitar and singing for family, he would entertain anywhere for anyone. Bob's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Randles. Bob is survived by his son, Gregory Randles; grandchildren, Aubbrianna and Devlin Randles; brothers, Gary (Linda) and Ron (Sandy) Randles; girlfriend, Esther Sparks; nephews, Bryan (Sunny), Timothy, Dean and Shaun (Cathie) Randles; aunt, Eileen Lento.
Calling Hours will be held SATURDAY, May 8, 2021, 11am to 1pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Graveside Service with military honors, Monday, May 10, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron.
