Wallace R. Harter, 97 of Clinton passed away from declining health due to a broken heart. Born March 23, 1926 in Hannibal, OH to the late Jahugh and Della Harter, Wallace had been a Clinton resident all of his life, was a member of Clinton Church of the Nazarene and retired from the Carpenters Union. Wallace enjoyed wintering in Florida with his wife, where they would roam the beaches looking for seashells. They also enjoyed their time fishing and boating on Lake Erie catching perch and walleye. He also enjoyed dancing to big band music and construction. Most importantly, Wallace was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Harter January 6, 2023; children, Joan Clarke, Pamela McGuffin, Laurie Strasser, Raymond Harter and Alan Harter; stepdaughter, Dinah Rollison; sisters, Martha Fox and Dolores Grim.
Wallace is survived by his daughters, Karen Stump and Lynn Beckman; stepdaughters Denise Osbourne, Patty Sense and Peggy (Tim) Weller; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held MONDAY, August 14, 2023, 12:00pm at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Pastor Arnold Yost officiating. Visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the funeral home. Burial at Clinton Cemetery.
