William Louis ‘Bill’ Johns, of Massillon, Ohio, peacefully passed away on October 5, 2023. He was 93 years old.
Bill was born in Akron, Ohio, the third child of Nellie and Alton Johns. For 73 years he was married to his high school sweetheart Jennie Rose (Palmieri). Their loving dedication to each other never wavered. They have four children, Dianna Smeal (Scott), of Alpharetta, Georgia, Robert (Patricia) of Columbus, Mississippi, Richard (Marylin) of North Canton, Ohio, and Russell (Pat) of Chillicothe, Ohio.
He was a lifelong learner with a range of interests but especially enthusiastic for the outdoors. Bill was at his happiest when hunting or fishing. After more than 30 years, Bill retired from the Timken Roller Bearing Company. In his retirement, when not in the woods or on a lake, he kept busy with multiple projects including carpentry, music, activities for his church, Trinity Church, United Church of Christ, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, children, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his sister Dorothy Magno, Barberton, Ohio.
The Johns Family is forever grateful to the caring staff at Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living in Barberton, Ohio
