William “Bill” Fath, 81 of Massillon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Sunday January 8, 2023. He was born December 4, 1941 to the late Lloyd and Rena (Marsh) Fath and was a lifelong Massillon resident. Bill was an owner/operator truck driver for 53 years and was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church. He enjoyed hot rods and driving a shiny truck, and spending time watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Most importantly Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by many; his unique sense of humor provided many laughs and good memories.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Erfurth and brother, Robert Fath. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara (Burger) Fath; children, Christine (Joel) Fichter, Tim Fath and Tracie (Jim) Leedy; grandchildren, Reed, Todd and Chad Fichter, Nicole Fath, Mitchell, Taylor, and Abbie Leedy; brother-in-law, Tom (Marilyn) Burger; sister-in-law, Judy (Butch) Kosco; numerous nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held SATURDAY, January 14, 2023, 12:00pm (Noon) at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 2813 Lincoln Way W., Massillon, The Very Rev. Canon Matthew Mankowski celebrant. Burial at Brookfield Cemetery. Visitation SATURDAY, 9am to 12pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Community Hospice, Stark County Humane Society or St. Barbara Catholic Church.
