Wilma J. (Owens) Smith Charlton

Wilma J. Smith Charlton, 83, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022. She was born July 22, 1938 in Hargett, KY to the late Henry and Mae Owens and moved to Akron as a child. She retired from Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton. Wilma enjoyed volunteering at Akron City Hospital and the Northwest Stark Senior Center. She liked to play bingo and travel. She and her husband traveled to Italy, South Africa, Hawaii and Alaska.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Smith; son, Darrell Smith; sister, Ines Soltis and brother-in-law, Andrew Soltis.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Joseph Charlton; daughter, Deborah Lee (Dan) Evans; daughter-in-law,  Kim Smith; and granddaughter, Courtney R. Evans.
Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY. January 7, 2022, 1:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Friday, 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.
