Eleanor Bigham, age 87, of New Franklin OH, passed away suddenly at home on July 21, 2016. She was born March 14, 1929 in New Castle PA to Leroy and Essie Shaffer. Eleanor’s husband, Richard, preceded her in death June 16, 2011 after 63 years of marriage.Eleanor retired after 35 years as a Manchester School bus driver and worked as a precinct judge for the Summit County Board of Elections. She was a member of HighPoint Church and active in their ACTS group. Those who knew Eleanor will remember her love of gardening. Visitors to her home were guaranteed a tour of her yard and often left with "starts" of their own. She also loved all animals but was partial to her Greek Tortoises, Quail and Sebastopol Geese. She will be dearly missed. Eleanor is survived by her children Eileen Snyder of Canal Fulton OH, Rick (Kathy) Bigham of Phoenix AZ, Janie (Larry) Collier of Duncan SC, Nancy Snyder of Canton OH and Paul (Nadine) Bigham of Akron OH as well as her grandchildren Dan, Mark and Andy Snyder, Angela Brumbaugh, Tim Collier, Niki Snyder, Josh and Sam Bigham. Calling hours will be Monday, July 25 from 5-7pm and Tuesday, July 26 from 10-11am at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 26 at 11 am at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home. As per her wishes, Eleanor will be cremated then interred at the Manchester Cemetery next to her husband at the convenience of the family. In memory of Eleanor, do something nice for the animals. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Eleanor’s name to The Wilderness Center
